What you can do now
Nothing
A letter does not oblige you to anything. Throw it away or keep it; many owners keep such a letter with their papers for when moving does come up.
Reply, without sharing your details
"No" or "maybe later" is a good answer too: the writer knows where they stand. They only get your name, email or phone number if you give it yourself.
Unsubscribe your address
If you don't want any more letters through DoorLetter, unsubscribe your address. Nobody can then send post there through us.
Who is behind DoorLetter

I'm Jiri, an estate agent in Maastricht. With almost every house I sold, there turned out to have been letters from people who wanted to live there. By the time the owners actually moved, those letters were lost, or the number was no longer on them.
That is why every letter through DoorLetter carries its own code. With it you read the letter online and reach the writer whenever you want, without giving anything away. Create an inbox with the code and the letter stays there.
My whole storyHow you know who you're dealing with
- The letter comes from a private person looking for a home. DoorLetter does not buy houses and is not meant for investors or flippers; an automatic check stops pressure and inappropriate texts.
- Your address comes from the public Dutch address register (BAG) and is only used to deliver the letter. Your name is not needed: the letter is addressed to the residents.
- A letter is not an offer and a reply is not a commitment. A home is only sold with a signed purchase agreement.
Frequently asked questions
What is DoorLetter?
A Dutch service that lets people looking for a home send a personal letter to the owner of a house that is not for sale. The letter is printed and delivered by PostNL; with the code in it you read it on doorletter.nl and can reply anonymously. DoorLetter was made by Jiri, an estate agent in Maastricht.
Where do I find my code?
At the bottom of the letter, in the box next to the QR code. Scan the QR code with your phone and the letter opens straight away.
Is replying really anonymous?
Yes. You reply through the inbox on doorletter.nl. The writer only sees your name, email or phone number if you share it yourself.
Does it cost me anything?
No. Reading, replying and unsubscribing are free. You can pay to see a buyer's contact details before they share them, but you never need to: replying is always free.
How did the writer get my address?
They chose your home or street themselves, usually because they would love to live there. DoorLetter takes addresses from the public BAG register and uses them to deliver letters from people looking for a home. No name is needed, and anyone who unsubscribes gets no more letters through DoorLetter.
I don't want any more letters. How do I unsubscribe?
Enter your address or the code from the letter on doorletter.nl/unsubscribe. Nobody can then send post to that address through DoorLetter.
